Make this delicious breakfast treat the night before, and wake up your house guests to the warm smells of apples and cinnamon.
Ingredients:
- 1 Loaf Cinnamon Bread, Cubed
- 1 8 Oz Package Cream Cheese, Cubed
- 8 Eggs
- 2 1/2 Cups Milk
- 6 Tbs Butter, Melted
- 1/4 Cup Maple Syrup
- 2 Apples, Peeled and Diced
Directions:
- Arrange 1/2 of the bread cubes in greased 13 x 9 baking dish.
- Top with cream cheese and apples and remaining bread.
- In blender combine eggs, milk, butter and maple syrup, process until smooth.
- Pour over bread.
- Cover and refrigerate overnight.
- Remove from refrigerator 30 minutes before baking.
- Bake uncovered at 350 for 35-40 mins or until knife inserted comes out clean.
- Let stand for 10 minutes before serving.
Apple Cider Syrup
Ingredients:
- 1/2 C Sugar
- 4 Tsp Cornstarch
- 1/2t Cinnamon
- 1 Cup Apple Cider
- 1 Tbs Lemon Juice
- 2 Tsp Butter
Directions:
- In a saucepan, combine sugar, cornstarch, and cinnamon.
- Gradually whisk in cider and lemon juice.
- Bring to boil; cook and stir for 2 minutes or until thickened.
- Stir in butter until melted.
- Serve warm with strata.
